Within Royal Philips responsible for Philips strategy within the Benelux markets. Including Marketing and Sales, Business Development, Government Relations, and Communications relating to all Health Technology areas.
Mr. de Jong is a member of the General Council and the Executive Board of the employers’ organization VNO/NCW and he is vice-chairman of Stichting Brainport.
Mr. de Jong was born in 1957 in the Netherlands. After graduating from Delft University of Technology in 1984, he worked at Philips Lighting in the Netherlands in various manufacturing and management roles. From 1995 he spent five years working in Hong Kong as a marketing manager in charge of product strategy and market development, with a special focus on Greater China, India and ASEAN. In 2001 he returned to the Netherlands as global marketing & sales manager Automotive and in 2004 he was appointed CEO of this Business Group and a member of the Lighting Management Team. In 2008 Mr. De Jong became CEO of Lighting Systems & Controls and Automotive Lighting, with a special focus on product and market development for LED and advanced electronic control systems to promote energy saving in indoor and outdoor lighting. In his current role his focus is mainly on developing partnerships for innovative new care solutions and models, based on digital technology.
