In Health Valley companies, universities, health care institutions and governments join forces to stimulate technological innovations in this sector. It is not the knowledge and development of new concepts that are the most challenging but rather applying these in practice. A technological innovation is only effective if it is applied by patients and healthcare professionals. The cluster is concerned with questions such as: How do you innovate from a patient's perspective? And what role can patients, healthcare professionals and partner organisations fulfil in this issue? By putting these questions on the agenda, Health Valley is helping innovations to actually reach the market.
Cluster manager Chris Doomernik takes you on this tour to two interesting sites:
First, there is a visit to Novio Tech Campus, where 40 companies (from startup to experienced companies) and 600 jobs in life sciences, health and high-tech are located. Here companies cooperate, share knowledge and develop new products. Chris Doomernik will give an introduction to Health Valley and Rikus Wolbers will explain all about the Campus. After an interactive discussion, you will be taken for a guided tour over the Campus.
After lunch, we will transfer to Radboud University Medical Center (RUMC), which aims to provide participatory and personalised healthcare and actively contribute to the development of sustainable, innovative and affordable healthcare. RUMC participates in professional networks in the whole healthcare chain and provides a meeting place for scientists, healthcare professionals, patients and entrepreneurs. Leon van Halder, Chairman
of the Board, will say a word of welcome and Dirkjan Masman will introduce you to the university’s Technology Transfer Office. Moreover, you will be introduced to the Orthopedic Research Lab by Nico Verdonschot and the REshape Innovation Center by Lucien Engelen.
